EMpower is a grantmaking and capacity-building foundation that builds opportunities for at-risk youth, age 10-24, in emerging market countries. The foundation supports local organizations working to improve the education, health and wellbeing, livelihoods, and leadership capability of young people.
Within education, the foundation focuses on completion of secondary school, provision of 21st century skills (such as international language and computer skills), and improving the relevance and quality of education. Particular attention is given to gendered dimensions of access to education, retention in school, etc.
