Tumaini Letu was established in Muleba District,Tanzania in 1992 in order to assist vulnerable groups including young needy orphans and children, particularly those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Tumaini Letu belives that providing quality early childhood development will transform a child’s abilities and opportunities throughout their lives. In parternship with the Better Way Foundation, local government, and implementing partners, Tumaini Letu has operated a dedicated ECD program since 2010.  The Tumaini Letu ECD program provides holistic support to ensure healthy growth and development for the most vulnerable children.

Currently, Tumaini Letu runs 20 day care centers in Muleba District with 5,506 young children (3-6 yrs) of which 75% are orphans and other vulnerable children. By supporting children with proper nutritious meals, health services, kindergarten and pre-school education, and opportunities to attend primary and secondary school, the organization takes an integrated approach to improving the overall well-being of children. Tumaini Letu also runs a savings and credit scheme for women (HANURA) who are caretakers of orphans and vulnerable children
