A Literacy Practitioner’s Guide to Education Technology GuidanceProject Literacy Community of Practice, Technology Working Group 2018
While education technology guidance abounds, it is rarely developed by practitioners or specific to literacy issues. This Guide seeks to help fill that gap by adding a practical, practitioner-informed literacy lens to three key areas: accessibility, adult literacy, and low resource and connectivity settings.
Each section underlines some of the current challenges associated with education technology tools, and presents advice for overcoming them. We highlight relevant guidance, well-developed solutions, and guiding questions for developers and users of education technology to consider.
The Guide was collectively developed by members of the Project Literacy Community of Practice, a collaborative learning network of literacy practitioners from over 20 countries.It is still in draft form and will continue to be revised.
