Expanding Access and Increasing Student Learning in Post-Primary Education in Developing Countries: A Review of the Evidence

The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) launched its Post-Primary Education Initiative to promote policy-relevant research on secondary and post-secondary education in developing countries, which together will be referred to as "post-primary education". This paper reviews the evidence to date on post-primary education and highlight the gaps in the literature, with a focus on identifying policies that should be given the highest priority for future research. 

Education at a Glance 2013: OECD Indicators

The OECD Directorate for Education and Skills devotes a major effort to the development and analysis of the quantitative, internationally comparable indicators that it publishes annually in Education at a Glance. These indicators enable educational policy makers and practitioners alike to see their education systems in light of other countries’ performance  and, together with the OECD country policy reviews, are designed to support and review the efforts that  governments are making towards policy reform.

The Global Partnership for Education Open Data Initiative

The Global Parternship for Education's Open Data Initiative has gathered over 11,000 data points from over 29 countries to build its monitoring and eevaluation strategy. The datasets compare education targets to actual results in each GPE developing country partner to help countries assess their progress, develop evidence-based programs to address children's educations, and access aggregate joint sectore review documents, grant applications, and key outcome visualizations.

Cutting a Path to Prosperity: How Education Pioneers Are Building Better Business Schools for the Developing World...and Why

A collection of the efforts to build high-quality business consortiums in the developing world. The report opens with a response to the question: "why does management education matter?" and highlights 10 case studies in developing countries with tehmes like "Giving Post-War Europe an Economic Boost" and "Breaking New Ground with an Industry Driven School". The GBSN closes with commentary on "lessons learned" and "programs in action."
