This review provides a meta-analysis of the effectiveness of different technical and vocational education and training (TVET) interventions on employability outcomes for youth (ages 15 to 24). The 26 studies used for this paper included randomized control trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental designs in 14 low- and middle-income countries in Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, East Asia, South Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa. The authors hesitantly conclude that TVET programs demonstrate promise, but most models studied showed only small, positive effects. The authors urge more rigorous, quality research in this area.
